How 7IRIS proves a file can be recovered

Having encrypted parts does not prove that data will actually come back. The 7IRIS laboratory core reconstructs the file, compares it with the original, and only then confirms recovery.

Five steps in a recovery check

  1. 01

    Encrypt before splitting

    The core encrypts the file before creating parts. Storage locations do not receive plaintext or the key.

  2. 02

    Create ten parts

    The encrypted object is encoded into ten parts. Six admissible parts are sufficient for reconstruction.

  3. 03

    Account for shared risks

    Devices sharing power, network, or location are not treated as fully independent.

  4. 04

    Actually reconstruct

    The check reads six admissible parts and builds a test copy of the file.

  5. 05

    Compare the result

    The final SHA-256 is compared with the original. A match confirms integrity, not merely the presence of parts.

Laboratory environment

The laboratory environment includes 14 test machines and one separate central server. Some equipment shares power, network, or location, so these are not 15 independent geographic nodes.

What this check does not prove yet

  • This is a laboratory result, not a public SLA or recovery guarantee.
  • The Windows user application, recovery key, and version history have not been released.
  • A standalone recovery utility and open format are still being designed.
  • No independent security audit has been completed yet.
